Online service
Online service
Ko Taku Reo Deaf Education - New Zealand offers an online service for some Deaf and hard of hearing (DHH) students. This service provides some DHH students access to online support from a Resource Teacher of the Deaf (RTD), and an opportunity to connect with other DHH students.
Students participate in an online group with others who are similar in age to them. Each student attends their own local school and connects online once or twice a week. Students are able to interact with others who, like them, are Deaf and/or hard of hearing. This is not always possible in their local school, as many students are often the only Deaf or hard of hearing student attending.
We also offer DHH students and students who have a connection to the Deaf community, or a connection with Deaf individuals who use NZSL, the opportunity to learn NZSL online.
Online NZSL classes - enrolments are now open for 2027.
- Expressions of Interest are now open for 2027 Years 9/10 and NCEA Level 1, 2, and 3 Online NZSL courses
- The closing date is: Monday, 30 November 2026
- Application forms have been emailed to the whānau of current Years 9–12 students enrolled with Ko Taku Reo.
